Sup Dudes,

Sitting here watching Everything Everything’s  ‘Suffragette Suffragette’ I fail to see why everything has to be repeated twice? Having said that I’m in awe because, fuck this lot are inventive.

I don’t read too many blogs, never have. I’ve never really taken the time to write a blog. However, I’ve been told from some reliable sources that this is how bands get themselves out there nowadays and as far as I’m aware, we’re really not out there but certainly need to get out there. We’ve tried touring, we’ve made good music, we’ve dealt with some absolute cocks, we’ve danced like idiots for longer than I can remember, all with the aim of making a career in music. But no, we’ve missed a trick; it’s all about the fucking blogs!

Everything Everything make me want to play music again, I’ve been distant for too long, some far away land working for some man, better known as ‘the man’ to all you better acquainted with the more liberal parts of North London, Hoxton dwellers, Camden pirates, Gandhi. Don’t get me wrong, the man was good to me but I’m tired of making other greedy people money and feeding the capitalist fire. I’m not lazy, In fact quite the opposite but, firstly I don’t want to do something I don’t believe in, because I’ll probably regret it and, secondly I don’t need fancy shit, I’m 25, more than happy to be skint, eat own brands, get high (now and then), find a job that I agree with (quickly!), and in the meantime make some lovely music.

As a band, I would be the first to admit that we’ve been lazy this past year, but I can assure you all that it’s all about to change. I’m sure of it; I’m feeling good feelings. Though today I feel, look, and smell like a tramp….. I’ve only been unemployed three weeks and I’m a disgrace.

So how has it come to this? Well, it’s partly down to my thickening beard that I’ve been cultivating since I left the job, partly down to the fact I’ve had 8 hours sleep since Friday morning, and partly because I just haven’t got round to showering today!!! Although, I’m not too bothered, I’m happy; we got some good shit done this weekend. We’ve made another music video motherfuckers….

Low budget music videos dudes… wow. As the band, the band of course being the major investor, you’re not only required to dance like an absolute tool at twice the track speed from seven in the morning till gone seven at night, key roles also include delivery man, roadie, tea boy, cleaner, negotiator and stripper. We’ll, I exaggerate slightly, I wasn’t made to take my clothes off. However, I was required to mime the words and keep a straight face while a lady 3 times my aged rubbed her hands up and down my inner thigh, occasionally flirting with territory that had I reported her, she may have found herself on some sort of list somewhere. Anyway, it was all in a day’s work, and although there were some stressful moments we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Big thank you and happy birthday to Dom our director for all his hard work, another big thank you to Hayley who has helped us out too many times, and of course a big thank you to all crew and cast and everyone else that chipped in to make the shoot as successful as it was.

So this is the end of my first blog and a start of the new us. I’ve heard that making these blogs successful means interacting with you audience, so tell me what your listening to at the moment, where should I be getting my inspiration? I’ve got too much time on my hands, I want to be introduced to some new bands, let me know who the competition is!

We’re working on new material all the time; we’ve got loads of gigs and exciting new stuff in the pipeline, so be prepared…. I’m going to spam the shit out of you all.
