We didn’t expect that… 05.03.11

Again its a bright sunny day and we all have to return to normality….the only difference is our spirits are high, some might call it the perfect pathetic fallacy.
Last nights gig can only be described as blinding, with a strong impressive line up, going on last was just a pleasure as we got to enjoy the other acts with a sell out crowd at the Borderline .
Two Spot Gobi were unreal, true professionals and motivating to watch, following them was never going to be an easy feat. (Check them out!)
So we approached the gig with an open mind, with the announcement of our new drummer Jack (No.2) and a few tweaks to our set we got on to a full venue and smashed it.

As I once again sit on a National Express bus heading back to the pretty shitty city, I urge you to watch this space as the void is about to be filled.

National Express, causes stress 02.03.11

National Express, causes stress.

It has come to this, not only am I balancing a Law degree with everything else, I’ve resorted to national express coaches to enable me to do it. How bad can it be though, Thursdays gig is going to be huge.

The sun is out and some good news has set us in good spirits. Sat here watching Casino on the coach followed by an episode of Entourage, I begin to question myself. Should I take a leaf out of the mob and Ari Goulds book and start getting ruthless?? There is no question we have been working hard, but we are hoping for some good things this week, will all the good things occur?
No one knows, but what we do know is someone will move a mountain for us at some point. Its a tough industry but some one has to do it.
So come support us Thursday 3rd March for our showing with Two Spot Gobi, there is a guaranteed surprise for all.

PEACE,

BG

Something to cure an over-active mind… 27.02.11

So one man’s ending is another man’s beginning…….Insightful I know, but come on we’ve been distant.

Whilst the estate agents are getting richer, our one concern is getting bigger and better than before.

It’s not that we’ve been deliberately hiding; we have just been perfecting an already good thing and why not?

Today everyone is a musician and the same struggle is no less enjoyable. We are moving forward and it’s good.

With the imminent arrival of our new video and single, there are grounds for those concerned to be excited.

I can talk and talk about our music but it’s needless because you can hear it here anyways (or on the 3rd March at the Borderline w/ Two Spot Gobi). So I want to rant and rant to my hearts content. Is it just me or has music turned full circle?? It was progressing so nicely, with enigmatic efforts coming from all spheres and directions, Calvin bringing back the synth and technological advancements working to form a base for everything right (in most cases)

We have the return of Oasis Style Brit Pop!!! WHY?

Don’t get me wrong who doesn’t like a sing along with our Northern compatriots and the Twang nearly got it right, but really, is there a need for the rebirth of overly trebly imitation Gibson 335’s tainting our young progressive ears?

We are constantly trying to bring something fresh and as I said before, the other man’s beginning, in this case seems like a HUGE step back.

Who knows, the likes of Brother may bring an injection of life to an already dwindling professional industry, that day by day is becoming more and more like a corporate restaurant turning to frozen foods for success.

There is no doubt our little over produced, auto tuned pop doubles may take some convincing that there is anything wrong, but for us realists lets take a step forward.

Why not get yourself on to i-tunes pick a random single and spend your weekly Kit-Kat money on it. After all music seems to be the only thing where any form of consistent situational relationship can occur.

So here we are new girlfriends, new artists, new view points, at the crossroads. Lets hope we all choose the right direction and don’t end up riddled with anything venereal that Tom would call a one night slip up.

PEACE,

BG

Day 3 – A song that makes Will happy 21.02.11

Day 03 – A song that makes you happy

Cee-Lo Green – Fuck You

Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/track/13F6b1oaRWKyROUCb53HHJ

This song can always put a smile on my face – only the explicit version! As well as being amusing, I think it is probably one of the best written pop songs of the last decade, and the bass in the bridge is amazing! The video is also amazing, even the typography one is great!

Day 2 – Will’s least favourite song 20.02.11

Day 02 – Your least favourite song

The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger

Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/track/5CThDzhcxvTLRkxJDDUojJ

To pick my least favourite song of all time is rather hard, but this nugget of shit represents everything I dislike about modern guitar based music in the UK and the so called fans. Enjoy….or not..

Will’s 30 Days of Songs – Day 1 – Favourite Song 19.02.11

Will's Blog

Over the next 30 days I shall be giving you an insight into my musical tastes and sins. The idea for this is based upon something my friends and I have been doing on Facebook, but why not share it with you?

So….

Day 01 – Favourite Song

Morcheeba – The Sea

Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/track/1kx4hMIW7HlHSTS1idZ04b

For some reason this song just seems perfect to me, it can make me euphoric or stupidly sad, it evokes memories good and bad.

What’s the past? This IS the future! – a.k.a. Tom’s first blog 19.10.10

Sup Dudes,

Sitting here watching Everything Everything’s  ‘Suffragette Suffragette’ I fail to see why everything has to be repeated twice? Having said that I’m in awe because, fuck this lot are inventive.

I don’t read too many blogs, never have. I’ve never really taken the time to write a blog. However, I’ve been told from some reliable sources that this is how bands get themselves out there nowadays and as far as I’m aware, we’re really not out there but certainly need to get out there. We’ve tried touring, we’ve made good music, we’ve dealt with some absolute cocks, we’ve danced like idiots for longer than I can remember, all with the aim of making a career in music. But no, we’ve missed a trick; it’s all about the fucking blogs! Weiterlesen »
